Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people seek therapy during periods of transition, relationship challenges, grief, parenting stress, caregiving responsibilities, or when they simply feel disconnected from themselves or the people they love.
Therapy provides an opportunity to better understand what’s happening in your life, strengthen your relationships, and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and connection.
What is your approach to therapy?
My approach is relationship-centered and grounded in attachment science and systemic therapy. I believe our relationships have a powerful influence on how we experience life’s challenges and opportunities for growth.
Together, we’ll explore the patterns shaping your experiences, build on your existing strengths, and develop practical ways to create healthier relationships with yourself and the people who matter most.
What can I expect during the complimentary consultation?
Finding the right therapist is an important decision, which is why I offer a complimentary 45-minute video consultation.
During our conversation, we’ll discuss what’s bringing you to therapy, explore your goals, answer your questions, and determine whether we’re a good fit for working together. There is no obligation to continue, and if I believe another therapist would better meet your needs, I’m happy to provide referrals.
How long are therapy sessions?
Most therapy sessions last 60 to 75 minutes.
I intentionally offer longer sessions because meaningful conversations often benefit from having enough time to slow down, reflect, and explore important topics without feeling rushed. Together, we’ll determine the session length that best supports your goals.
Who do you work with?
I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, grief, trauma, parenting stress, caregiver stress, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm.
Every person and every family has a unique story. Therapy is always tailored to your individual goals, experiences, and relationships.
What makes Connection Matters Colorado unique?
Before becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate, I spent nearly three decades supporting children, adults, and families in pediatric hearing healthcare—as both a pediatric audiologist and later in healthcare leadership. Walking alongside families during some of life’s most meaningful and challenging moments continues to shape the compassionate, collaborative, and relationship-centered care I provide today.
Do you offer in-person and virtual therapy?
Yes. I offer both in-person sessions at my Denver office and secure telehealth appointments for clients throughout Colorado.
We’ll discuss which option best fits your needs during our consultation.
Do you accept insurance?
Connection Matters Colorado is a private-pay practice and does not participate directly with insurance plans.
Choosing not to work directly with insurance allows therapy to remain focused on your needs rather than insurance requirements, diagnosis-driven treatment limitations, or restrictions on the length or frequency of sessions.
Payment is due at the time of service. If your insurance plan includes out-of-network benefits, I’m happy to provide a superbill that you may submit for possible reimbursement.
What are your fees?
Current fees are available on the Fees page of this website.
If you have questions about fees, payment, or out-of-network reimbursement, I’m happy to discuss them during your complimentary consultation.
Where is your office located?
My office is conveniently located at:
3801 E. Florida Avenue, Suite 915
Denver, Colorado 80210
Additional information about parking and directions will be provided before your first appointment.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Therapy is confidential, with a few legal and ethical exceptions required by law, such as concerns about imminent safety, suspected abuse or neglect, or court-ordered disclosures.
We’ll review these limits together before beginning therapy so you know exactly what to expect.
I still have questions.
That’s completely okay.
Choosing a therapist is a personal decision, and it’s important that you feel comfortable before getting started.
If you have additional questions, I invite you to schedule a complimentary 45-minute video consultation or contact me directly. I’m happy to answer your questions and help you determine whether Connection Matters Colorado feels like the right fit for you.
